The Department of Colorectal Medicine and Genetics is focused on clinical care and research:
- Screening and early detection of bowel cancer
- Familial bowel cancer
- Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP)
- Hereditary non polyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC)
- Ulcerative colitis
- Crohn's disease
- Coeliac disease
- Irritable bowel syndrome
There is close integration with other Royal Melbourne Hospital departments/services:
- Gastroenterology
- Colorectal Surgery
- Familial Cancer Centre
- Bowel Cancer Surveillance Service
