12th Australasian Prostate Cancer Conference (APCC)
(formerly the National Prostate Cancer Symposium)
3-5th August 2011 Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Wharf, Docklands, Melbourne, Australia
Now the premier prostate cancer educational event in Australasia, it is one of the biggest urology meetings in the region. The 2011 program includes specialised meetings for Urologists, Researchers, Nurses, General Practitioners, Psycho-Oncologists and for the first time this year Continence Practitioners. All meetings encompass the latest developments in prostate cancer screening, diagnosis and management with educational goals aimed at all practitioners involved.
The APCC expects to attract over 800 local and international delegates including Urologists, Scientists, General Practitioners, Nurses, Psychologists and Continence Practitioners over 3 days, making it one of Australia’s most impressive scientific conferences for 2011.

Translational Science Meeting (2 days) |
We are pleased to announce that, this year, the Australian Prostate Cancer Research Centre (APCRC), the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) and the Victorian Prostate Cancer Research Consortium (VPCRC) are collaborating to deliver to you a programme with the latest in clinical and basic research into prostate cancer. |

Nurses Meeting: |
Promising to be a very exciting meeting, the morning workshop will cover a variety of nurse specific topics, followed by an afternoon plenary session held jointly with Clinical Psychologists, Continence Practitioners and GPs.
Also back by popular demand is the Nurses Breakfast with our special international guest on the Friday morning. |

Psycho- Oncology Meeting |
The Psycho-Oncology meeting aims to bring together clinicians and researchers working in the field of psycho-social care of prostate cancer patients, their partners and families. This meeting will encourage the sharing of clinical practice and research findings, discussion of future directions in psycho-oncology research and also aims to foster new collaborations between researchers and clinicians |

Continence Meeting |
For the first time this year we are holding a Continence Meeting with continence physiotherapists and nurses focussing entirely on issues related to post prostate cancer treatment urinary incontinence.
This will include assessment and management of male incontinence both pre and post prostate cancer treatment. Male pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation will be discussed including assessment, individualised training programs and their application to improve continence outcomes. |

General Practitioners Workshop: |
Following the overwhelming interest received in 2010 this meeting will again deal with the challenging areas of prostate cancer care. International prostate cancer experts will join with public health doctors and authors to update GPs on the best advice to give patients who are concerned about prostate cancer. |
