6 South West
6 South West is a 24-bed ward caring for patients with renal failure from acute and chronic episodes right through to End-Stage requiring Peritoneal Dialysis, Haemodialysis or Transplantation.
We also care for Endocrinology, Rheumatology and Dermatology patients. With diabetes rapidly becoming the most common cause of renal failure in Australia, this is a very practical partnership and an excellent learning environment for staff of all disciplines.
The Nephrology and Special Medicine ward has a Clinical Nurse Educator with an office on the ward. The Clinical Nurse Educator provides clinical education and support for our:
- Orientation Program
- In-service Education
- Short Course Program
- Graduate Nurse Program
- Clinical Development Program
- Postgraduate Certificate Program
