The Royal Melbourne Hospital strives for excellence in patient care, research, and education. You can help support this work by making a donation, giving to an appeal, or giving a memorial gift.
Memorial Gifts
Many families choose to leave a donation to The Royal Melbourne Hospital in lieu of flowers at the funeral of a loved one. Donation envelopes are sent to the Funeral Director who ensures they are available at the service. Each person who makes a gift in this way is sent a receipt, and the family is sent a letter advising a list of all who have given in memory of their loved one. If you wish to have memorial envelopes sent to a funeral home, please contact the Foundation on (03) 9342 7111.
Donations
Gifts may be made in support of specific projects or activities, or be directed to Patient Care, Education or to Research. Gifts may be made in cash, by cheque or credit card. Pledge Gifts may be established for monthly, periodic or annual giving.
The Funds of the Foundation provide pathways for giving. Funds are established for Donations to the Hospital and arms of the Health Service, for contributions to research, equipment, education, or to be used at the discretion of the Board. In addition, Health Funds are established to support advances in services in specific areas of healthcare, such as cancer, diabetes or heart disease. Donors may donate directly to the Health Fund or specify that their gift is directed to support the care of patients, research or education.

RMH Foundation General Fund
All gifts which are directed (without additional provison) to The Royal Melbourne Hospital are placed with the Foundation Fund, and allocated to hospital priorities as determined by the Melbourne Health Chief Executive. Where gifts are unfettered they may be applied to the acquisition of equipment in the current year, or held within the Fund for the purchase of significant items in future years.

RMH Foundation Medical Research Fund
With the Research Fund, monies may be bequeathed or donated to specific areas of Health Research, supporting specific projects, research fellowships, or adding to the corpus for Health Research.
